Taking cues from Edgar Allen Poe's  "Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket", also from Jules Verne's and H.P Lovecraft's narrative continuing/explaninationally stories "The Shinx of the Ice Fields" and "At the Mountains of Madness," respectively. Johnson takes original commentary of Poe's work on whiteness and blackness and add's his own social/racial commentary into the mix with all the other metaphysical ingredients to craft a cant miss book.
