Disney may be wholly evil, buying up company after company to bolster their own brand, but their acquisition of Indian media company UTV have bore fruit it this animated tail of India greates hero Arjun. Watch the trailer below. It may not get play outside of Indian but one can hope.

Juan of the Dead

I'm a fan of the zombie genre, I can't count how many times I sit around with friends talking about our plans for the zombie apocalypse. Up until now most films that depict the hordes of the undead lurching onward in thir never ending thirst for brains and guts have been from mostly an anglo point of view, director, locations, main hero. That changes with Juan Of The Dead. This movie looks like a blast featuring characters such as trans person, La China, (I hope they don't over play his transition and sexuality to much); the prerequisite best friend Lazaro played is Jorge Molina, who just happens to also be a director of film and at Professor at Havana’s Escuela Internacional de Cine y Television. I can't wait till I get a chance to see it. I missed it while it was playing at the Havava Film Festival , hopefully it come around again in some form.

Queer Black Cinema festival

I came across this organization a while ago and support there quest to present LGBT film of african decent individuals. If you have a film you want to be seen or you are a perfromer, music, here's some information from the Queer Black Cinema blog,

Call for films and multi-media submissions are now open until August 15th. Artist of African descent from around the world are asked to submit their best work. Submission forms are available for download at www.Festival.queerblackcinema.org. Films without submission forms will not considered.

Music artist must have a single or complete CD available to the public with a link to a video performance online in order to qualify for the festival. For complete rules and qualifications, download submission form at www.Festival.queerblackcinema.org.
